Pakistan’s Home Minister said on Saturday that earlier this month a tanker of LPG was attacked with an Israeli drone and 27 crew members, including 24 Pakistani nationals, were taken into custody by Huti rebels.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi said in a statement on ‘X’ that the crew members were later released. Naqvi reported that the tanker was targeted on 17 September when he was at the Ras Isa port of Yemen.
He said that after the attack, a tank of LPG had exploded but the crew managed to extinguish the fire. The minister said, “Later Huti boats stopped the ship and took the crew members hostage on the ship itself.”
He said that the crew has been released by the ‘Huki rebels’ and they are out of the water area of Yemen. According to Naqvi, the crew included two Sri Lankan and a Nepali citizen while the ship’s captain was Pakistani.
