Both our countries want to move forward now
Soon after arrival on Monday evening, Wang met Jaishankar. As soon as the meeting started, Jaishankar aired in his statement: ‘After seeing a difficult phase in our relations … our two countries now want to move forward. This requires a clear and creative approach from both sides. ‘ He reiterated his position expressed during his visit to China for the meeting of SCO Foreign Ministers in July, saying, “In this effort, we should be directed by three mutual principles – mutual respect, mutual sensitivity and mutual interest.” Differences should not be changed into dispute or competition.
