Vinay prepared for Combined Defense Services (CDS) from school time, but was not selected. After this, prepared for the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). 3 years ago he was admitted to Navy Lieutenant. His duty was in Kochi, Kerala.
On March 28, Vinay came home from Kochi with a holiday for marriage. Destination wedding took place in Mussoorie on 16 April. After this he had a honeymoon plan in Europe. However, he did not get NOC from the Navy, so he moved to Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 21 April. On April 22, when he went out to hang out with his wife, there was a terrorist attack and was murdered in front of his wife Himanshi.
