Leave Pepsi and McDonald’s … Ramdev’s desi mantra on Trump’s tariff, adopt indigenous, make self -reliant India

Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev has strongly opposed the imposition of 50% American tariffs on Indian goods and called for a nationwide boycott of American companies. Ramdev said that Indians should stop purchasing products of brands like Apple, Pepsi, McDonald’s and KFC. He insisted that such a boycott would make Washington forced to withdraw his inappropriate trade measures. He further said that India should convert this challenge into opportunity by promoting domestic manufacturing, creating new employment and partnership with countries like Russia, China and Middle East. Highlighting India’s ability to become a global center in the field of manufacturing, health, education and tourism, Ramdev said that the world will learn the art of living life from India. Yoga guru Ramdev broke the trump tariff

Ramdev’s remarks came only a few hours after US President Donald Trump’s decision to double the tariff on import from India to 50 percent, which came into force on Wednesday. This has shocked the relationship between two powerful democracy, which became strategic partners in recent decades. The 25 percent of the punitive tariff imposed by India due to the purchase of Russian oil was added to the 25 percent tariff imposed by Trump on several imports from South Asian country.

Baba Ramdev explained the desi mantra to compete with tariff

Describing the move as “political bullying, hooliganism and dictatorship”, Ramdev addressed the media, saying, “Indian citizens should strongly oppose 50 percent of tariffs imposed on India by the US. American companies and brands should be completely boycotted.” Ramdev also urged people to stop purchasing American food products from Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Sabway, KFC or McDonald’s outlets.

No one goes to the counter of Pepsi, Coca-Cola

The news agency ANI quoted Ramdev as saying, “Not a single Indian should look at the counters of Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Sabway, KFC or McDonalds. It should be widely boycotted … If this happens, anarchy will spread in America. Inflation in America will increase so much that Trump can also have to withdraw this tariff. Trump has made a big mistake against India.”

Trump’s tariff on India

Due to the additional 25 percent fee, the total tariff on various items like apparel, gems and jewelery, shoes, sports, furniture and chemicals has reached 50 percent, which is one of the most tariffs imposed by the US and is almost equal to Brazil and China.

The new tariffs are threats to thousands of small exporters and jobs in India, including Gujarat, and there is a possibility of damaging the development of the world’s fastest growing major economy.

There was no indication of renewed interaction between Washington and New Delhi on Wednesday, as there was no trade agreement in the US to reduce tariff rates by about 15 percent even after five rounds of talks – as in agreements agreed by Japan, South Korea and European Union.

There was no response in the Indian market to the move due to the closure of the stock market due to the Hindu festival on Wednesday, but the stock markets recorded their worst session in three months after a notification from Washington on Tuesday.

The Indian rupee also continued to decline in the fifth consecutive season on Tuesday and it closed at a low three -week low.
