Taking another big step in the field of education, Punjab Government today launched a mobile application called English Helper under The English Edge programme. Through this app, students of government schools across the state will now be able to easily learn both Punjabi and English.
The app was officially launched at a grand function held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains launched the app, Punjab affairs in-charge Manish Sisodia was the chief guest. He appreciated this initiative for education reform by giving green flag to the app.
Students will now learn English on their mobile phones
Education Minister Harjot Bains said that through this app, every government school student can learn English by logging in from their mobile phones. Students can type any word or sentence in their language and see its instant English translation. This will develop children’s language skills and now children are being motivated to make the most of it.
Bains said that teachers have been given special training on this app to teach students how to use it properly. On this occasion, many teachers also said that they have completed the app training and now the children are being motivated to make maximum use of it.

He urged the students to download this app and practice it daily. Through the ‘English Helper’ app launched under ‘The English Edge’ programme, the Punjab government aims to make the children of the state proficient not only in their mother tongue Punjabi, but also in English and make their mark globally.
