The ICC has appointed Sanjog Gupta as Chief Executive Officer i.e. CEO. Sanjog is a well -known face in the global media and entertainment. He has taken over from 7 July. Along with this, he is still the 7th CEO of ICC history. On his appointment, ICC Chairman Jai Shah said that Sanjog has considerable experience of sports strategy and commercialization which will be invaluable to the ICC.
Sanjog is appointed at a time when cricket is included in the Olympics. He also believes that joining the Olympics will give cricket more fame globally, this is a good thing for this game. More than 2,500 applications were received from 25 countries for this post. The ICC’s HR and the Remuration Committee selected 12 candidates. The final selection for this post was done by the Nomination Committee. The board appointed Sanjog Gupta as the new CEO with the consent of everyone.
At the same time, Sanjog said that it is a good fortune to get this opportunity, especially at a time when cricket is ready for unprecedented development and about 2 billion fans are supported in the world weight. This is an exciting time for the game as the stature of major events is increasing. Professional routes are growing and opportunities such as women’s sports are growing on the scale of popularity. Cricket involvement in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will take cricket in the world to height. Who is Sanjog Gupta
Currently, Sanjog Gupta was the CEO of Sports and Experience in Jio Star. He has more than 20 years of experience in this field. He has been a journalist in 2004 he was associated with Star News India. He then worked in many media institutions. In 2020, he became the Sports Head of Disney Star, in 2024, after the merger of Disney Star and Vikam-18, he became the CEO of Jio Star.
