21 -year -old Danish Malewar has created history. He scored a double century after which he has become the first player to do so for Vidarbha in the tournament. The Dalip Trophy 2025 has started. With the debut of this domestic tournament, 21 -year -old Danish Malewar has created history. He scored a double century after which he has become the first player to do so for Vidarbha in the tournament. Danish scored his first double century in the debut match of the Dalip Trophy. Danish of Central Zone scored an excellent innings of 203 runs before retiring North Zone. Along with this, he also touched 1000 runs in first class cricket. He did this feat in just 16 innings.
Who is Danish Malewar?
Malewar has been emerging rapidly since debuting in first class at the end of 2024. He scored 783 runs in his first Ranji season, including a crucial innings of 153 runs played in the final against Kerala that gave Vidarbha his third Ranji Trophy title. He was the third highest run -scorer for Vidarbha after Yash Rathore and Karun Nair in that season. Now he has also become the first century of Vidarbha in the history of the Dalip Trophy.
His spectacular performance was seen in the 2024 Ranji Trophy knockout stages. Malewar played a combative innings of 79 runs against Mumbai in the semi -finals and then also performed well in the final against Kerala. He finished the season at an average of 52.20 and was the fifth highest run -scorer of the season.
Danish, who batted at number three, is now being compared to Rahul Dravid and Cheteshwar Pujara. Born in Nagpur, this player is of calm nature like Dravid and Pujara but takes the bowlers.
