‘Last layoff’ in Facebook company

The round of layoffs has begun again in Meta, the company led by billionaire Mark Zuckerberg. Around 10,000 job cuts were announced by the company in the second round. This is the latest wave of layoffs at the company that provides platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp and is being implemented in three phases. The company had fired 11000 employees from its workforce in the first round.

Zuckerberg had hinted in March
According to Business Today, Meta Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg said of the layoffs in March 2023 that the bulk of the company’s second round of layoffs would be completed in several months. At the same time, he indicated that some short rounds of layoffs may continue later. After shedding 11,000 workers in the first round, it has become the first major tech company to start laying off 10,000 workers once again.

Effect of pruning on these components
The second phase of layoffs that have begun at Facebook (Meta) is expected to affect employees across multiple divisions of the company. Some employees reported on LinkedIn that the layoffs are affecting marketing, sales, site security, program management, content category and corporate communications teams, and many people have lost their jobs.
