Large espionage network disclosed in India, ISI is using Indian SIM card

Indian intelligence agencies have exposed a large espionage network allegedly operated under the direction of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The network was detected after Operation Sindoor launched in response to the increasing tension with Pakistan. This operation revealed the dangerous use of the Indian SIM card to carry out espionage activities and to compromise national security as possible. Investigations revealed that many Indian SIM cards, which were previously inactive, had become active and were used for frequent communication with Pakistani operators. These Indian numbers, which were found near the operatives in Pakistan, were found to have an important equipment in a sophisticated detective scheme composed by ISI agents.

One of the arrested suspects, Hasin provided several Indian SIM cards to the operatives in Pakistan. During interrogation, Haseen admitted that he had shared one-time password (OTP) associated with Indian phone numbers with Pakistan’s intelligence operators (PIOs). This helped Pakistani operators to operate WhatsApp and other encrypted messaging platforms from the Indian SIM card, hiding their real place and finding it difficult to find out their operations. These Indian numbers were used as part of the honey trap operation to trap Indian officials and military personnel. The target was contacted using these numbers so that they could be manipulated or removed in sensitive information. The purpose of the secret operation was to obtain strategic intelligence on India’s defense capabilities and military establishments.

A notable target was a senior officer of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), who was reportedly implicated in a honey trap. According to sources, the officer was contacted through one of the Indian numbers provided by the suspects arrested in an attempt to compromise on national security.
