Tej Pratap Yadav is returning to the same seat from where he registered his first victory in 2015. He will contest the elections as the official candidate of his newly formed Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD), which aims to make inroads across Bihar ahead of the elections on November 6 and 11. On Monday, JJD released its list of candidates for the upcoming elections, in which Tej Pratap will file his nomination from Mahua on October 16. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Tej Pratap said that the party is planning to field candidates across Bihar. On the question of who will be the next Chief Minister, he said, “The public will decide who will be the Chief Minister of Bihar.”
Talking about his election campaign, Tej Pratap said that he will seek advice from his spiritual guru from Vrindavan before officially filing his nomination. Emphasizing his focus on Mahua, he said, “We have already established a medical college here; now our aim is to make Mahua a full-fledged district.” Tej Pratap Yadav’s political journey took a turning point in May 2025, when his father Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled him from RJD for six years. The removal came after a controversial social media post in which Tej Pratap had described a woman named Anushka as his girlfriend, leading to allegations of “irresponsible behaviour”.
