Shikha Kumari explains that “Fasting helps a lot for weight loss by restricting calorie intake. But if you are fasting, don’t eat too much fried food.”

According to a study published in Research Gate, a total of 830 participants were analyzed (531 participants were male and 299 participants were female). The results showed a reduction in the weight of the male participants. Another study states that fasting during Ramadan can reduce body weight in middle-aged adults with high blood pressure. Excess fat intake and less physical activity lead to overweight. In terms of being overweight, prevention and management can be done by maintaining a balance of diet and physical activity.
