A grand victory parade was to be held on June 4 to celebrate this victory. Initially it was planned as an open bus parade but later there was a change in the plan. Even before the parade, a large crowd became uncontrollable and there was a stampede on seeing it. In this accident, 11 people lost their lives and many people were injured.
At the same time, after this accident, RCB Management, Karnataka State Cricket Association and BCCI dismissed their responsibility. The matter became more serious when the Karnataka High Court intervened and sought a full report of the incident by June 10.
After the accident, AFIer was registered against RCB, DNA Entertainment Network, KSCA and other unknown people at Kaban Park Police Station. Investigation revealed that there was a lot of negligence in the planning of Vijay Parade. Police have first arrested RCB’s marketing and revenue head Nikhil Sosale in this case.
On June 6, Nikhil was detained from Bangalore Airport when he was allegedly trying to flee to Mumbai. According to the police, Nikhil played an important role in the planning of Vijay Parade, but the situation became uncontrollable due to lack of mob management and security arrangements. Kiran, Sumanth and Sunil Mathew, three employees of his seven events company, have also been detained.
