Kiren Rijiju, who attended the Dalai Lama’s birthday celebrations, said- happy that I too could join it

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed happiness over attending the 90th birthday celebrations of the Tibetan spiritual leader, 14th Dalai Lama in Dharamshala on Saturday. The Union Minister said that the Dalai Lama was prayed for the long life on Saturday, while his 90th birthday celebrations will be celebrated on Sunday. Kiren Rijiju told ANI that I have come to attend the 90th birthday celebrations of the Dalai Lama. Devotees from all over the world have come here and I am happy that I have also been able to join it. Today, his long life was prayed and his 90th birthday celebrations will be celebrated tomorrow.

Apart from Kiren Rijiju, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and famous Hollywood actor Richard Gere also attended the 90th birthday celebrations of Dalai Lama. According to the Gregorian calendar, the Dalai Lama’s birthday is officially celebrated on 6 July. The Tibetan community and followers from all over the region are celebrating the occasion with festive spirit and devotion. On July 2, the Dalai Lama said that the Gaden Fodrang Trust established by him can only recognize future rebirth and no one else has the right to decide on the matter. This statement dismisses any rights of China in the process of declaration of the next Dalai Lama.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Dalai Lama said, “The process of recognizing the future Dalai Lama has been clearly established in the statement of 24 September 2011, stating that it is said that doing so will only be on the members of the office of Gaden Fodarrang Trust, Param Param Holiness the Dalai Lama. They should consult various heads of Tibetan Buddhist traditions and watershed of the Dalai Lamas. Accordingly, the processes of discovery and recognition should be completed according to the previous tradition. “
