Kidnapped girl recovered from Navi Mumbai within 24 hours, accused woman arrested

The three -month -old girl abducted from outside the Panvel railway station in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra was searched by the police within 24 hours and a woman has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A police officer gave this information on Sunday. Senior Inspector of Panvel City Police Station Nitin Thackeray said that between 3 pm and 3:30 pm on Friday, an unknown person abducted the girl when she was outside the station with her mother.

As soon as the information was received, the police formed five teams to search for the girl and arrest the accused. The officer said that the police searched the CCTV footage of the area around the station in which a woman was seen riding in a train going to Pune with a woman.

After this, the police sent the team to Karjat, Lonavala, Daund and other places in Pune. The police later came to know that the suspected woman had returned to Panvel from Lonavala. On Saturday, the police saw the woman with the girl near the Kalamboli fire center and immediately caught her.

The official said that the girl has been handed over to her mother safely. The official said that the accused woman has been identified as Roshni Vinod Vageshri (35), who lives in a slum located in front of Panvel railway station. A case has been registered against him and he has been arrested.
