Kick-punches, swords, lawyers closed work in Punjab-Haryana HC

The Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyers went on strike on Thursday after a violent clash in the court premises a day earlier. The High Court Bar Association announced the postponement of work and demanded immediate action against two lawyers accused of inciting anarchy. The Bar Association has accused Advocates Simranjit Singh Blast and Ravneet Kaur. According to the bar executive, Ravneet Kaur accused the bar secretary of seizing his bag and laptop in the court room of the Chief Justice. He also demanded to postpone the hearing of his case for the next day, which was accepted despite the objections of about 100 lawyers.

After exiting the court room, Kaur allegedly created a ruckus and entered the bar office with the Blassy, ​​where she abused the secretary and attacked other members. The most serious allegation is that the Bones waving swords and wandering in the High Court premises. Bar said that the police initially took both of them into custody, but did not take any further action. The association has warned that an indefinite strike will be held if the FIR and arrest is not made. Later, the Chandigarh Police registered a case against both under various sections of the Code of Justice of India (BNS). The Blassy has been arrested, while Kaur is escaping from arrest.

Following the complaint of the Bar Association, FIRs were lodged under Section 109 (attempt to murder), 115 (2) (intentionally hurt) and 126 (incorrectly stopping) at Sector-3 police station. The Blast will be produced in the district court on Thursday, while Kaur is likely to be arrested soon.
