Chandrashekhar said that I am confident that it is a matter of misunderstanding and wrong communication. He further stated that although the matter was initially considered human trafficking, the case seems to be a lapse in registration under the Private Placement Agency Regulation Act.
BJP’s Kerala unit arrested in Chhattisgarh has come out in support of Malayali nuns and claimed that the incident is neither a matter of conversion nor human trafficking, but the result of misunderstanding caused by technical flaws. BJP state president Rajiv Chandrashekhar while addressing the media and posting on the social media platform X said that he has spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and got complete information on the matter. Chandrashekhar said that I am confident that it is a matter of misunderstanding and wrong communication. He further stated that although the matter was initially considered human trafficking, the case seems to be a lapse in registration under the Private Placement Agency Regulation Act.

He said that I understand that he has not registered on the required portal. But this is definitely not a case of smuggling or conversion. The statement came in the state by citing the anti -conversion law by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, which is applicable due to a large tribal population in the state. Rajiv Chandrashekhar also said that Kerala BJP has taken active steps and state general secretary Anup Antony has already reached Chhattisgarh to provide legal and logistics aid to the arrested nuns.
