‘Kashmir is ours, yet we go there scared’…. These words are of actress Sandeepa Dhar. The family of Sandipa has suffered the pain of being Kashmiri Pandits. His parents had to leave their made world. He had to come to another state and start with zero and today when he goes to Kashmir, there is a fear inside.

The actress has spoken with Dainik Bhaskar after the Pahalgam attack. In the interview, she asks many important questions besides expressing her pain, anger. Read the major parts of the conversation…

You are from Kashmir. You and your family have suffered migration pain. What would you like to say on Pahalgam attack?

What happened in Pahalgam is a very unfortunate and heartbreaking event. I do not understand this fact that we have been stranded at the same place for 30 years from where we started. What happened in Pahalgam happens first every day. Now perhaps it is happening once a year. I remember when this incident happened, I saw a clip on social media. In that video, a woman is running away with her child and there is firing behind. I saw fear and sorrow on his face. She was crying. I want God not to show such a day to anyone.

It is unfortunate that we are among the top five countries in development and growth, but this has been going on in our own country for the last 35 years. I do not know when it will end. I do not know how many people will have to lose their lives to do something about this. I want anyone to never go through this condition in life.

When something like this happens, then your own country gets very angry and there is pain. Those people were tourists. If someone went to a honeymoon, he went for a holiday for many family. When he was there, he got this experience. This is scary. We who keep speaking so much that no one in India can do anything. India is number one but this is the truth.

I hope that those who are guilty, the government will give them the harshest punishment. Will compensate for all deaths caused by this incident. For what terrorists did, they will never forgive them. I hope that the government will give them a proper answer because it has been going on for many years.

However, I am happy that today’s India is not India, which sits silent. Now we answer. I am hoping that Modi ji will do something so that he does not know more innocent. We have many army soldiers here, who are losing their lives on regular basis. We do not know because these things do not come in the news. I really feel that now it is enough man.

Last year, you went to Kashmir with your family. You saw your old house.

We had just started feeling that things have started becoming normal in Kashmir. Me and my family were in Kashmir last year. Everything was normal at that time. I had gone to Pahalgam just a short time ago. At that time there was an army everywhere. If I tell the truth, I still do not understand how this happened? Because Kashmir has a lot of security. You go anywhere, army soldiers are deployed there. Then how did this happen? In broad daylight, two-four terrorists come to the tourist place and kill so many people. That too in the state where the most army is. I do not understand how it is possible? I think they should answer.

The whole world knows that Indian people are tolerant. Your parents also think the same.

We Indians forget very quickly. We apologize. We believe in Karma. We feel that those who have done bad deeds will be punished. I don’t think we should trust such things now. I think this is now being taken advantage of this. I believe that now we should close it. We should take revenge now.

I will pray that those who have carried out the incident should be caught and they got rigorous punishment. Such punishment that many of his generations could not even think of doing something further. My family and millions of family members like us have left their home, property everything. We have all started with zero.

We are not able to go to our own city. How can this thing be normal? My parents go to Kashmir with great fear. Kashmir is their place, their state. Those people grew up here. If you are afraid to go to your house then this is the failure of the political system for me. It needs to be replaced.
