A shocking case has come to light from South Kannada district of Karnataka, where a former scavenger working with the Dharmasthal temple administration has made several sensational claims. The person has alleged that he was forced to burn and bury the bodies of rape victims for years. He has recently approached the local police and pleaded for the safety of himself and his family.
Victim came to light after a decade, demand for justice
According to the ‘The New Indian Express’ report, this person said that after nearly a decade, he has come to light due to guilt and desire to get justice to the victims. He claimed that the bodies were of many women and school students, who were raped and murdered in Dharmasthal and surrounding areas between 1998 and 2014.
South Kannada Superintendent of Police Arun K.K. Told that the person has requested to keep his identity confidential, and after getting the necessary permission from the court, the police have registered a case.

Pictures of human remains and threat to family life
Advocates Ojasvi Gowda and Sachin Deshpande, who are representing the complainant, shared the details of his statement with the police. The complainant has also claimed that he has given pictures of human remains, which he has recently dug out. These are the same remains that he buried years ago.
The newspaper quoted the person as saying, “I request the police to dig and fired the remains of the dead bodies I buried. About 11 years ago, I left the shrine with my family and started hiding in the neighboring state. We are afraid every day that we will also be killed.” The government is currently waiting for the response to this serious matter.

Student’s body found in school uniform
The former scavenger said in his complaint that initially he felt that the bodies that were being found (most of which were bodies without women) were deaths due to suicide or drowning. But some bodies had sexual harassment, strangulation and other bruises on some bodies, which made him suspicious.
According to the newspaper report, he referred to an incident that bothered her forever, ‘In 2010, a 12 to 15 -year -old girl, about 500 meters from the petrol pump in Kaleri, was found dead. He was wearing a school uniform, but his skirt and inner clothes were missing. He had sexual harassment and strangulation marks on his body. ‘
