With the major leadership battle in Karnataka still unresolved, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar are holding a breakfast meeting to discuss and defuse the crisis in the ruling Congress.Siddaramaiah called Shivakumar following the intervention of the party high command, which had directed the two leaders to work together to resolve the power sharing dispute that had been going on for days even after the government reached the halfway point last week.A photo of the meeting soon surfaced in which both the leaders are seen eating upma, idli and sambar, indicating that relations remain good between them.

Shivakumar has reiterated his loyalty to the Congress and said that any decision regarding party leadership will be taken by the high command. Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah has maintained his stance.
Siddaramaiah said on Friday, “The high command has called both of us, so I have called him (DK Shivakumar) for breakfast, and we will talk there. As I said earlier, whatever the high command says, I will accept; there is no change in my stand. Even he (DK Shivakumar) said that whatever the high command says, we will accept it…” Siddaramaiah said on Friday.

It is reported that this development took place after the high command summoned both the senior leaders, when both of them had a ‘war of words’ on X in an attempt to stay ahead in the narrative game and indirectly signal their position to the leaders sitting in New Delhi. “The party high command had called me and him (DK Shivakumar) and asked for a meeting. So, I have called him for breakfast tomorrow. When he comes, we will talk,” PTI quoted Siddaramaiah as telling reporters. He further said, “There is no change in my stand and I have said that whatever the high command says, I will listen. We both have said that whatever the party high command says, we will listen.” The Chief Minister also said that if the high command calls him, he will go to Delhi.
Earlier in the day, when Congress state president Shivkumar was asked if he would go to Delhi to meet the party high command, he replied in the affirmative, “Delhi is our temple.” “I don’t want anything. I am in no hurry. My party will take the decision,” he told reporters at a function to mark the golden jubilee of the Anganwadi programme. He shared the stage with the CM. He said that in view of the winter session of Parliament starting from December 1, he can go to the National Capital. On his visit to the National Capital he said, “I can go to Delhi.” He said, “I have a lot of work there. The Parliament session is approaching. I have to meet all the MPs of Karnataka because they have to work on some of our projects.”
When asked if he would meet the party high command, Shivakumar said he would. He said, “Delhi is our temple. We all have to go. Nothing can happen without Delhi. Congress is a party which has a long history, and it has always guided us.” Shivakumar further said that the Congress leadership decides party policy, and both he and Siddaramaiah will visit Delhi whenever called. Interestingly, Priyank Kharge had earlier in the day said that the Congress high command has a sense of timing to resolve the growing “power tussle” between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar.
