Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer ordered an inquiry into Rahul’s allegations: Shivkumar

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar said on Friday that state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V Ambukumar has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of ‘election fraud’ of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

A Congress delegation led by Shivkumar submitted a memorandum to Ambukumar. After this, the Deputy Chief Minister told the reporters that they have been told that the CEO office has started its investigation.

State Congress President Shivkumar said, “I was happy to know.” He said that he would go to the CEO office again to get documents and evidence. The Deputy Chief Minister said, “In the first phase we have asked them to give detailed information about every assembly constituency, where such incidents have happened.”

When asked about the BJP’s allegations, Shivkumar said that he is not worried about the main opposition party of the state. Shivkumar said, “Let him (BJP leaders) say what to say. We are requesting a court, a judge and an autonomous commission. We have requested them to take action (from the Election Commission), because it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to prepare the voter list, hold elections and fix things immediately.

Shivkumar submitted a memorandum to CEO Ambukumar after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused of large -scale electoral fraud in Mahadevpura constituency during the Lok Sabha elections.

Former Mahadevpura MLA Arvind Limbavali has given a statement that Varuna, the constituency of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the minister BZ Zamir Ahmed Khan’s assembly constituency Chamrajpet were also fake voters.

Reacting to this, Shivkumar said that the Election Commission should investigate it. The Deputy Chief Minister said, “If there are such issues in my constituency (Kanakpura), then I do not object to the investigation. Action should be taken against fraudsters and people guilty of misuse.
