During the protest of cow slaughter in Perne village of Karnataka, a case has been registered under Section 353 (2) of the Indian Justice Code for making inflammatory speeches against Ganraj Bhat Kedila and spreading communal disharmony. The police have taken this action in view of the speech given with the intention of inciting hatred among the groups, in which further legal process is going on.

Demonstration organized against the incident of cow slaughter
Police on Monday registered a case against a person for making alleged inflammatory speeches and promoting communal disharmony during a protest against the incident of cow slaughter in Perne village of Bantwal Taluk, Karnataka. According to a police release, the incident took place on September 6. A huge demonstration was organized under the aegis of ‘Go Mata Protection Chatuwali Perne’ organization near Kadambu Carla Ramdwar of Perne, condemning cow slaughter. The demonstration lasted from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.

Intention to incite a sense of hatred and enmity among religious communities
In the case registered by the police themselves, it is alleged that a person named Ganraj Bhat Kedila, while addressing the protesters, deliberately gave a stimulating speech with the intention of inciting a sense of hatred and enmity among various religious communities, which was aimed at promoting disharmony between groups and communities at the local level.
In this regard, a case has been registered against Ganraj Bhat Kedila at the Uppinangdi police station under Section 353 (2) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) 2023. Police have said that further legal action is being taken in the case.
