Kapakpi is the story of young people who are more interested in the carrom board and tea cup than a career in life. Six unemployed friends live in a rented house, and when the timepass border is crossed, they form an oise board in the game. Then there is an entry of a ghost named ‘Anamika’ which shakes their world.
The script that converts fear into laughter
The funniest part of the story is the same when the carrom board is made an oise board. Initially it seems a joke, fake souls, funny questions, but when the glass starts moving on its own and the secrets start coming out, then the atmosphere becomes really scary. But in the story, the place of fear does not last long, because the humor dominates every scene.
Tusshar Kapoor’s entry
Entry as Tusshar Kapoor’s ‘Kabir’ kills the film. His character is neither a hero, nor is Sirius, but a funny Presence that showers of laughter in a conversation with a ghost. These scenes are highlights of the film.
Not a heroine, equal comedian
Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Rathi have not been left only by making ‘Love Interest’ in the film. Their screen time may be low, but their comic timing and flirtatious balance the entire group. Siddhi is especially surprised, because the serious style of her ‘The Kerala Story’ is completely reverse here.
Director’s farewell gift
Sangeeth Sivan’s last film, who gave films like ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’, is Kapakpi, and he has given a full dose of his comedy style on the go. The film may look a bit long, but he has kept the treatment so light and light that laughter does not stop.
Hit pair of Shreyas-Tushar
The pair of Shreyas and Tushar, known from the series ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’, do wonders again. The chemistry, stupid and humor between the two seems very organic, as old friends have returned to a college prank.
Dialogues that win hearts
The authors have caught hidden humor in ordinary situations. Panchlines are not over-the-tops, but are kept in such a way that she hits the screen directly to the audience’s mind. And the best thing comes from the heart, not from the background track.
See or not?
If you find suspense and screams in horror films, then this film is not your choice. But if you have friends, weekends and lighten the mood – then Kapakpi is a perfect option.
Final Wordict:
Kapakpi is an entertaining horror-comedy that will remind you of friendship, not of fear. The ghost has come to laugh here, not to scare. Do watch this film, that too will double the fun with pakoras and friends.
