Kane Williamson joins Lucknow Super Giants before IPL 2026, gets this responsibility

Before the IPL 2026 auction, Lucknow Super Giants has made a big announcement. Actually, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka has informed that the great New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson will be a part of Lucknow Super Giants in the coming season. However, he has joined the team not as a cricketer but in a new role. Sanjeev Goenka has told that Kane will be the strategic advisor of Lucknow in the upcoming season.
 
“Kane Williamson has been a part of the Super Giants family and we are delighted to welcome him to his new role as Strategic Advisor to Lucknow Super Giants,” Sanjiv Goenka wrote in his official statement. His leadership abilities, strategic insight, deep understanding of the game and ability to motivate players make him an invaluable contribution to the team.
Kane Williamson has a lot of experience in IPL. He has played 10 seasons as a player in IPL. He has been active in IPL from 2015 to 2014. He was also the Orange Cap holder for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 after scoring 735 runs. Till 2022, he played for SRH and also captained the team. In 2023 and 2024, he was a part of Gujarat Titans, but played only one match. He got to play two matches in 2024. He did not find any buyer in the mega auction of 2025.
