At Rajgarh village near Pakhowal town of Raikot, Kalyugi’s son, intoxicated with alcohol, killed his elderly father with a brick. The accused son was sentenced to 22 months in the case of murdering his uncle during a quarrel for about five years. Intoxicated, he fought with his wife and started burning the house by setting the cylinder on fire, when the deceased father stopped him, on which the accused threw him down and killed him with bricks. The correctional police arrived at the spot and immediately took action and arrested the murderer’s son. The deceased father was retired after serving as a home guard in the Punjab Police.
According to the information, around 10 o’clock last night, Avtar Singh (40), who was under the influence of alcohol, killed his elderly father Buta Singh (75) by hitting him with a brick. In this regard, Manjit Kaur, wife of the deceased Buta Singh and Virpal Kaur, wife of the accused, gave information and said that the accused is addicted to drinking alcohol and used to fight inside the house all the time in the state of intoxication.
Last night around 10 o’clock when he came home in a drunken state, he started fighting and took a gas cylinder from the kitchen and was about to set it on fire, when his father Buta Singh stopped him from doing so, Avtar Singh got angry and grabbed his old and sick 75-year-old father and threw him down and started beating him. Meanwhile, he picked up a brick lying nearby and hit his father on the head, killing him on the spot.
On this occasion, when the family members made a noise, the neighbors removed him and informed the police, on which SHO Gurdeep Singh of the police station reformation reached the place of the incident along with the police party and sent the dead body to the mortuary at Ludhiana for post-mortem and recorded the statements of the family members of the deceased.
The deceased Buta Singh had retired after serving as a home guard in the Punjab Police and had a good influence in the village. Giving information in this regard, SHO Gurdeep Singh of Police Station Reform said that on the basis of the statements of the deceased’s wife Malkeet Kaur, a case has been registered against the murderer’s son and investigation has been started. The accused has been arrested.
The police chief said that in 2020, the said attacker had a fight with the boys of his uncles over a matter, during which a case was registered against him under the death of one of his uncles and under that case the said attacker has served 22 months in jail but later on an agreement was reached between the two parties, he came out and last night again he committed a shameful and criminal incident. given
