Kailash Manasarovar Yatra started again after 5 years, first batch flagged off

On the occasion of the re -starting Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after a five -year break, the state’s Tourism and Culture Minister Jayveer Singh will flag off the first batch of pilgrims from Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan in Indirapuram on Sunday. This pilgrimage took place last time in 2019. It was postponed after the tension between Kovid epidemic and India and China in 2020. Last October, India and China agreed to withdraw from Depsang and Demchok in East Ladakh – two major points on the journey route.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025’s first batch of pilgrims leaves

The first batch of devotees for the visit of Kailash Mansarovar left after a ceremony held here on Friday. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margerita presided over the event held at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhavan. The statement said that in his address, he appreciated the Chinese side for cooperation in starting the yatra again. Margerita also appreciated the role of various ministries and departments of the Center in it.

The government organizes Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through two official routes of Lipulekh Pass (since 1981) in Uttarakhand (since 1981) and Nathu La Pass (since 2015) in Sikkim between June and September.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Located in the far western Himalayan ranges of the Tibetan Autonomous region, the 6638 meter high diamond -shaped Kailash mountain (also called Gang Rinpoche in Kailas and Tibetan in Hinduism) and the largest freshwater lake Mansarovar (also called it in Manas Sarovar and Tibetan in Hindi and Tibetan is also a source of divine energy for mankind. Kailash Parvat and Mansarovar Lakes are reserved as the most sacred places in Hindus, Jains, Bodh and Bon religions. Every year, during the months of April to October, a large number of devotees from all over the world visit Kailash Mansarovar, who want thrills.
