Justice Varma Case: The sword of impeachment and the frame of SC, the big hearing in Justice Verma cash scandal on July 28

The Supreme Court will hear the writ petition filed by Justice Yashwant Verma on Monday, July 28, seeking to dismiss the panel report of three judges against him. Justice Verma filed a petition in the Supreme Court last week challenging the findings of the internal investigation panel of three judges against him in the ‘cash seizure case’. The petition sought to dismiss the panel report, which found strong evidence and also challenged the recommendation of the then Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna to impede him. In his petition, Justice Verma argued that the investigation has violated the principles of natural justice and alleged that he was not given an opportunity to conduct a fair hearing and cross -examination.

He said in his petition that the inquiry committee accidentally put the burden of evidence on him, and asked him to prove the fact wrong, which the committee had accepted the imagination. A large quantity of cash was found after the fire at the residence located, after which an investigation was started against him. Meanwhile, an impeachment motion has been submitted against Justice Yashwant Verma in the Lok Sabha, which has been signed by 152 MPs and has been handed over to Chairman Om Birla. This proposal, supported by MPs of several parties including Congress, TDP, JDU, JDS and CPM, relates to a ‘cash recovery case’ and a report presented before the Supreme Court.
