On reaching Khanna, welcome to Jaskaran Singh selected in UPSC.
Jaskaran Singh, son of ASI Jagmohan Singh of Punjab Police, secured 240th rank in UPSC exam. Jaskaran, who lives in Khanna’s village Bhummadi, was taking training in IRS (Custom) in Andhra Pradesh at the time of the result.

On returning to Khanna of Jaskaran, the citizens gave him a grand welcome with the beat of the drum and the rain of flowers. Jaskaran told that he took the UPSC exam 2 times. For the first time failed. The second time was selected in the IRS Custom with the 595th rank. The third time was unsuccessful for the third time. He got success in the fourth time.
Jaskaran said that despite having good opportunities in IRS, his goal was to serve the society by becoming an IAS. They want to stay in their state and improve education and health system. He believes that the youth should get better opportunities in India instead of going abroad.
The importance of hard work is not to recommend- Jaskaran
He praised the UPSC examination system and said that it provides equal opportunities for all classes. Any person can take the exam for a fee of only 100 rupees. Here only hard work is important, not the recommendation.
