Jairam Thakur’s ‘advice’ did not visit Mandi: Kangana

The ruling Congress in Himachal Pradesh on Friday took a sarcasm at the opposition party in the state about the statement of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut that they did not visit the areas affected by cloudburst incidents in Mandi on the “advice” of BJP leader Jairam Thakur.

The Congress took a pinch and said that this statement of Kangana has angered Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. 43 people have died due to meteorological incidents in Himachal, out of which 14 have died due to cloudburst, sudden floods of eight, one of the landslides and seven people died due to the flooding of floods. Most people have died in Mandi, where 10 incidents of cloudburst, sudden floods and landslides have caused heavy havoc.

Ranaut said in a post on ‘X’ on Friday, “It is going to be shocking to see the devastation caused by floods in Himachal Pradesh almost every year. I wanted to go to flood affected areas in Seraj and Mandi, but Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur advised me to wait till the contact was restored in the affected areas. ”

He said in another post, “I am going to Himachal Pradesh. I will soon visit the affected areas. I stand with Himachal Pradesh in every situation. Jai Hind!” A day earlier, on Thursday, Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, Leader of Opposition Thakur, tried to postpone the questions asked about Ranaut’s absence in the disaster affected area.

He had said, “We are worried about the local people and we live and die for them. We cannot comment about those who are not worried.” Taking a dig at this comment, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu advised Ranaut to talk to Thakur on Friday and said that Thakur is getting angry.
