Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelansky on Monday held a thorough conversation with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed major issues related to the ongoing war in Ukraine along with bilateral cooperation. Zelancesi informed Modi about the recent Russian attacks, including a deadly bomb blast at a bus station in Zaporizia, injuring dozens of people. He emphasized that despite the emerging diplomatic possibilities of peace, Russia continues its aggression and possession attempts and is not showing any desire to agree on the ceasefire.

Expressing gratitude for the continuous support of India, Zelancesi emphasized that Ukraine should have a direct participation in any solution of conflict. He said that every matter related to Ukraine should be decided by Ukraine’s participation. Other ways will not result in results. “The Ukrainian President also highlighted the importance of international restrictions on Russian energy exports, especially like oil to reduce the ability of Moscow for the finance of war. Said that the two leaders reviewed the progress in India-Ukraine bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.

The conversation also mentioned a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska, which was aimed at ending the Ukraine War. India’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the dialogue and highlighted the importance of diplomatic efforts for restoration of peace. Both Zelanski and Modi agreed to plan a personal meeting during the United Nations General Assembly in September and discussed the exchange of trips to further strengthen diplomatic relations. In this conversation, a mixture of a peaceful future was seen in solidarity, strategic dialogue and the upheaval in the region.
