Jai Shah stubbornness and strictness … What did Sourav Ganguly say about Jay Shah

Sourav Ganguly has praised Jai Shah, recalling his incident as the chairman of the Indian Cricket Board. The former captain of Team India revealed that he expected a special kind of strictness and stubbornness from the then secretary of the board and currently ICC President Jai Shah but was impressed by his honesty and ways to organize his honesty and things.
Ganguly and Sah were the world’s richest cricket board together from October 2019 to September 2022. This was a period of Kovid-19 epidemic due to which sports activities came to a standstill for a few months.
Ganguly said in a special interview to PTI at his residence in Kolkata that, his (Jai Shah) had his own way to work but the best thing about him was that he wanted to organize things properly to advance Indian cricket.
The former captain said in the context of Shah’s being the son of Shah’s Home Minister Amit Sah that, see, he had strength, support, so you expected a special kind of strictness and stubbornness from him but he did a lot to pursue Indian cricket.
This was the first time when both Ganguly and Shah were in a position in BCCI together. Prior to this, Ganguly was the president of the Bengal Cricket Association while Shah was an officer in the Gujarat Cricket Association.
In 2022, another former Test player Roger Binny was appointed as the chairman of BCCI in place of Ganguly, while Shah remained secretary till November 2024. He then became the youngest president of the ICC at the age of 36.
When asked about the mutual relationship between a political family heir and a famous cricket star, Ganguly said that there were cordial relations between them which are still intact today.

Ganguly further said that, we had very good relations and our relationships are very good even today. He was quite young when he came directly from the Gujarat Cricket Association to the BCCI in September 2019. He is a very associate and sociable person.
