NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan on Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Vice Presidential election in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju and Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present on the occasion. Radhakrishnan filed his nomination in the presence of about 20 proposers and 20 supporters. Earlier today, he laid a wreath on the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament complex.

He also paid tributes to the idols of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Rani Laxmibai, BR Ambedkar and Lord Birsa Munda in Parliament House. CP Radhakrishnan was accompanied by Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi, Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, L. Murugan and BJP leader Vinod Tawde. Radhakrishnan has previously been MP and Governor of Jharkhand and Telangana. Prime Minister Modi praised his “dedication, humility and intelligence”, referring to his long -running grassroots work in Tamil Nadu.

Chandrapuram Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan, who has been the Governor of Maharashtra since 31 July, 2024, has also been the Governor of Jharkhand, Telangana and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Radhakrishnan, a two -time MP from Coimbatore, was born on 20 October 1957 in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu.
