ISRO launches GSLV-F12/NVS-01 navigation satellite: Launched ISRO’s navigation satellite NVS-01. It has been sent into space by Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle i.e. GSLV-F12. This satellite will replace the IRNSS-1G satellite launched in 2016.

The energy from the solar panels will continue to work for 12 years

The satellite will be powered by two solar panels. Due to which the satellite will get 2.4 kilowatts of energy. Along with this, the lithium ion battery in the satellite will also be charged. This satellite will continue to operate for the next 12 years after its launch. The L-1 band is commonly used for positioning, navigation and timing. It is used for civil services.

The nuclear clock in the satellite will tell the exact location

This time the indigenously developed rubidium atomic clock is also being used in this navigation satellite. It was developed by the Space Application Center in Ahmedabad. Few countries have such atomic clocks. This watch helps to tell the best and accurate location, position and time.

Main functions of NVS-01 satellite

– Land, air and sea navigation
– Agricultural information
– Geodetic survey
– Emergency services
– Fleet management
– Location based services in mobile
– Finding orbits for satellites
– Marine fisheries
– Time service for commercial organizations, power grids and other government agencies
