The Israeli army will intensify the military campaign in Gaza. Israel’s War Cabinet approved the decision on Monday. This includes a plan to completely ‘capture’ Gaza and control the entire area.
According to reports, an official said that it is expected that it will be implemented only after US President Donald Trump’s visit next week. Israel will continue to try to reach a ceasefire and hostage agreement with Hamas.
However, the Israeli Army Chief Iyal land has warned about intensifying the campaign in Gaza. He has said that this campaign can endanger the lives of hostages in Gaza. However, he said that the new plan will help in making more strong attacks against Hamas and bringing the hostages left there.
Iyal land took charge of the Israeli Army in March this year in place of Hardai Halevi.
Israeli officer said- 2 motives to attack Gaza
Jamir said in a War Cabinet meeting that the army would not necessarily reach the hostages in an attempt to control Gaza. In such a situation they can lose hostages.
Jamir said that there are two objectives of Israeli army action in Gaza. The first objective is to defeat Hamas and save the second hostage. But both the motives may find difficulties to fulfill together.
Hamas attacked more than 250 people from Israel on 7 October 2023. After the release of the hostages, now Hamas has 59 hostage and survived of Israel, out of which 35 have died.
Israel started calling reserve soldiers
A day before this, Army Iyal Jamir had said that they are calling their reserve soldiers for this. He said that the Israeli army will ruin all the infrastructure of Hamas built under land and land in Gaza.
The ceasefire that continued for 8 weeks between Israel and Hamas broke on 18 March. After this, Israel started attacking Gaza again.
Israel has also banned the help of Gaza. Negotiations between the two countries regarding ceasefire are still stopping. Hamas has refused to further discuss the release of the hostages until the Israeli agrees to end the war and recall all his armies from Gaza.
According to the United Nation, Israel has declared 70% of the area of Gaza as a red zone. People living here have been ordered to leave the area.
