The US started increasing the pressure by putting 25 percent tariff on Japan. After which the news came that US President Trump has decided to exemption 10 percent on Japan. This tariff has now been reduced to 15 percent. This news had just come to light that another news shocked the whole world. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba announced his resignation. His party had to face a historic defeat in the Parliament elections held in July, after which the pressure to take responsibility on him from inside the party was increasing. 65 -year -old Ishiba, who considers himself a centralist, said that he is withdrawing from both the Prime Minister and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) positions. He also made it clear that he would not be candidates in the next leadership election.

Ishiba told in the press conference that I had already made up my mind to take responsibility for the defeat, but wanted to make some progress in tariff talks with America. US President Trump ordered the tariffs from 25% to 15% on Japanese vehicles and other products. Ishiba said that this agreement has been reached, so now the time has come to clear the way. He said that it was to be decided on Monday within the party whether the early leadership elections should be held or not. If this proposal had passed, it would have been like no confidence against them. It is not intended to divide the party.

Who will be the new Prime Minister of Japan
Ishiba will remain the Prime Minister until the party selects the new leader and takes approval from the Parliament. The new leader can be selected in October. His potential successors are being named as Agriculture Minister Shinjiro Koizumi, former fundamentalist Economic Security Minister Sane Takichi and former Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi, close to former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Experts believe that the new Prime Minister will not have a majority in both houses of Parliament, so they will have to seek the cooperation of the opposition parties.
