Is it so difficult to be a patriot? Khurshid’s message from foreign land

Former foreign minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid expressed concern over the growing political partition within the country, especially at a time when India’s stance against terrorism is being exposed internationally. Khurshid, part of the all -party parliamentary delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, said on the social media platform that political differences are increasing in the country. When on a mission against terrorism, to convey India’s message to the world, it is sad that people at home are calculating political loyalty. Is it so difficult to be a patriot? Khurshid posted pointing to the need for unity in national affairs despite political differences.

The Congress leader’s remarks came after the Modi government supported the decision to remove Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at an event with the Indonesian think tank, Khurshid, while supporting the removal of Article 370, said that Article 370 had given the perception that Kashmir is different from the rest of the country. But it was finally abolished. Khurshid is currently part of a delegation with the aim of highlighting Pakistan’s role in terrorism, which has recently come after Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. The delegation has already visited several countries including Indonesia, South Korea, Japan and Singapore and is currently in Malaysia. The group, which includes MPs from various parties, is working to raise international support against Pakistan -based terrorism.

Although Khurshid did not directly name any person in his post, his comment seems to be criticizing the delegation’s structure within his own party. The Congress had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with some party members to be excluded from all -party work.
