A sensation broke out in the city’s Sector-26 timber market on Monday when some miscreants surrounded a youth and opened fire on him. It is being told that the young man died.
According to the information, the attackers chased the young man for a long time, then took out their vehicle and surrounded the young man and stopped his vehicle. After that they fired 5 rounds on him. The youth was also hit by a bullet in the chest. After that, the accused escaped from the spot. The victim was admitted to the PGI in critical condition, where he died during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Inderpreet.
According to eyewitnesses, several shots were fired, causing panic in the area. On getting information about the incident, heavy police force reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The police have started investigating the incident. The area has been cordoned off and a search is on for the culprits. Chandigarh is on alert.
