India’s Export: The country’s exports are expected to cross $400 billion in the current financial year. In such a situation, the Ministry of Commerce is planning to launch a Brand India campaign to promote the export of services and products to new markets. A commerce ministry official said the campaign would work as a “holistic campaign” to promote the goods and services exported by India.

Know what kind of exports will be focused
In the initial phase, the campaign will focus on Indian exports in specific sectors such as gems and jewellery, textiles, horticultural products (tea, coffee, spices), education, health care, pharma and engineering. The focus will be on quality, heritage, technology, value and innovation.

IBEF reviews the campaign
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal recently reviewed the Brand India campaign of India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF). IBEF is a trust set up by the Department of Commerce, with the main objective of promoting awareness about the ‘Made in India’ label in foreign markets.
