Indian woman dies in Kathmandu Violence, body reached India

A religious visit to Nepal turned into a tragedy for a family in Ghaziabad, when the rioters set fire to a luxury hotel in Kathmandu, killing a woman, while dozens of Indian tourists are still stranded. Ramveer Singh Gola (58) and his wife Rajesh Devi (55) went to Kathmandu to visit Pashupatinath Temple on 7 September. But on the night of 9 September, his five -star hotel was set on fire during violent protests.

The unrest took place on 8 September after protests led by ‘Generation Z’, seeking transparency in governance and lifting of ban on social media. The protesters tried to enter Parliament and set fire to several government and private establishments when the movement became violent.
Devi’s elder son Vishal recalled the last moments and said that the mob attacked the hotel and set her on fire. As soon as the stairs were filled with smoke, my father broke the window glass, tied the sheets and jumped on a mattress. My mother slipped in an attempt to get down and fell on her back. The rescue team laid the mattresses under the building and urged the guests to jump. Ramveer and his wife jumped from the fourth floor. Ramveer suffered minor injuries, but the goddess suffered a serious injury to the spine. He died at a hospital in Kathmandu on the night of 10 September. Devi’s elder son Vishal said that her parents were very happy after worshiping at Pashupatinath temple on 8 September.

He also made video calls to show us the scenic spot of Kathmandu. But on the night of 9 September, there was chaos. The mob attacked the hotel and set it on fire.
