The Indian hockey team has reached the semifinals of the ongoing Junior Hockey World Cup. India beat Belgium 1-0 in the quarter-finals at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. For India, SN Tiwary scored from a penalty corner in the 21st minute of the match.
This is India’s fifth consecutive victory over Belgium in the Junior World Cup. India will face Germany in the semifinals. Germany beat Spain 3-1 in a penalty shootout in another quarterfinal. The match ended 2-2 at the scheduled time. The second semi-final will be played between France and Argentina.

Both semifinals will be played on Friday. The final will be played on Sunday. The Indian team is also the defending champions of the Junior Hockey World Cup. India had beaten Belgium in the final of the last tournament in Lucknow in 2016 to win the title. Then the Indian team won 2-1.
