Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar reached Moscow, tribute to unknown soldier’s tomb

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar paid tribute to the tomb of an unknown soldier in Moscow on Wednesday. This tribute at the historic monument was paid during his visit to Russia. External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar said that he was happy to talk to prominent Russian scholars and representatives of the think tank, where he discussed India-Russia relations and comprehensive global issues. Jaishankar said in a post on X that India-Russia relations, contemporary world geopolitics and India’s attitude were discussed.

According to an official statement of the Ministry of External Affairs, this conversation took place at a time when Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar is on a visit to Russia from Tuesday to Thursday. During his visit, he will meet Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov and will also co-head the 26th session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on business, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation. In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the visit of the Foreign Minister is taking place at the invitation of Denis Manturov, the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Union.

Dr. S Jaishankar, on 20 August 2025, will hold an official visit to Russia on 19-21 August 2025 to co-chair the 26th session of the Indo-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on the prescribed trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation (IRIGC-TEC). External Affairs Minister will also address the India-Russian trade forum meeting in Moscow. According to the statement, during his visit, Foreign Minister Russian Union Foreign Minister Sergei will also meet Sergei Lavarov and review the bilateral agenda and share his views on regional and global issues.
