The Indian citizen was heard more than 14 years on Thursday for the crime of sexually harassing an 11 -year -old girl in Singapore. The Singapore High Court sentenced the Indian citizen.
Due to the old age of Ramalingam Selvaskaran (58), he will not be killed, but the sentence of 14 years, three months and two weeks hearing includes additional imprisonment in exchange for 15 whips.
‘The Straits Times’ said in a report that Selvaskaran was convicted by the court on July 7. During the trial of the trial, Symbekaran himself presented his side. He was sentenced on July 30 but described himself as innocent and said that he would appeal against his conviction.
After getting bail in 80,000 Singapore dollars until the appeal was pending, Symbekaran requested the judge to relax his bail terms. Judge Aidon Ju, however, rejected her request seeking her electronic tag (usually on the foot to monitor the activities of the guilty) and demanded removal from removal and regular check -up in the police cantonment premises.
According to the case, the crime was committed on 28 October 2021 at a shop at Jurong West on the west coast of Singapore between around 4.50 pm to five minutes at a shop when the girl came to her shop.
