India won its 9th Asia Cup title by defeating Pakistan in the final. In the final match, Pakistan could win many times but in the end Team India won. The one who was expected was also the same. After the final, the award distribution ceremony also saw controversy. Indian players refused that we would not take the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. After which Naqvi sent the trophy out.
At the same time, Indian players celebrated the victory without a trophy. The players took photographs while acting to take the trophy in their hands, but in the midst of all this, there was a question in everyone’s mind whether India would not get the trophy?
ICC rule
The captain’s refusal to take the trophy may come under the ICC Code of Conduct but there is no specific rule regarding it. It can come against the spirit of cricket. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav will have to tell why he did not take the trophy. Then the institution or ICC of the tournament will decide on any action.
At the same time, after winning a match or title, refusing to take the trophy can be considered disrespect of the spirit of cricket. Its defense is the objective of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Along with this, the captain or representative will have to tell the clear and valid reason for not taking the trophy. The BCCI can officially register a strong protest at the next ICC conference regarding the incident.
