Political lobist Jason Miller met US President Donald Trump and his administration members at a time when the relationship between New Delhi and Washington is tense about the American tariff. Miller was appointed by the Government of India to strengthen its reach to the Trump administration in April this year. For this, it was reportedly decided to give him US $ 18 million.

Miller did not say the purpose of his meeting with Trump and other officials, but posted several pictures including a photo with Trump on social media. He posted, ‘Washington had a great week, where many friends were in the city. The best thing is that we got an opportunity to stay here and see our President working! India and the US relations have soured after Trump doubled the tariff on Indian goods to 50%. However, recently Trump described PM Narendra Modi as a good friend.

In February this year, the situation began to change unexpectedly when Prime Minister Modi was on a state visit to the US, while Trump announced a “mutual tariff” on New Delhi shortly before a conversation with the Indian leader. In May, when India launched Operation Sindoor for an accurate attack on the Pakistani terrorist network in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, Trump announced that he mediated between the two countries and made the ceasefire possible. India denied any foreign intervention in the ceasefire.
