India-Rus Trade Deal: The deadline of 1 August, what did Trump say about the trade agreement with India?

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday indicated to finalize the trade agreement with India soon, saying that India could join countries with which the US would compromise on August 1 before a mutual fee is imposed. Trump’s remarks have come in view of the recent success in the US-Indonesia trade agreement, under which the US has reduced the earlier 32 percent tariff to only 19 percent. When asked about the agreement, Trump said that something similar will happen to India and some other countries.

Trump said that we made a great deal, he (Indonesian President) opened the entire country to trade with the US. We were not allowed to go inside and do business. I think something similar will happen to India and we have some more deals. When asked how many business deals are expected before the August 1 deadline. According to a Bloomberg report, Trump has most prone to the trade agreement with India. He also said that he is very happy with these letters.

The US President was referring to the letters issued to some business partners in which duty rates were fixed on imports. Last week, he sent a series of letters to 14 countries including Japan, South Korea, Myanmar and Bangladesh. While doing so, Trump assured that the US was close to mediation on a trade agreement with India. Trump had said, “We signed an agreement with the United Kingdom, we signed a compromise with China, we are close to compromise with India.”
