Union Minister of Communications and North Eastern Region Development Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Tuesday presided over the annual Business Meat of India Post in New Delhi 2025–26. This important meeting was attended by various circle heads across the country, where there was a comprehensive discussion towards the commercial change of India Post and developing it as a premium logistics and civilian -oriented service provider.

The program was inaugurated by Secretary (Post) Vandita Kaul. In his address, he shared the major achievements of the last year and underlined strategic priorities towards institutionalizing innovation, inclusion and service -based approaches in the coming times.
On this occasion, Scindia launched a monthly e-nouslet called ‘Dak Samvad’. This platform will highlight stories of innovations, commercial aspects and success in India Post, which will not only show a glimpse of change, but will also underline the amazing commitment of the postal department personnel and the trust of the citizens. The purpose of ‘Postal Dialogue’ is to promote connectivity, inspiration and knowledge-wealth throughout India Post Network. During the meeting, all the circle heads presented commercial progress, local initiatives, challenges and development strategies of their respective areas. It was clear from these presentations how India Post is playing a strong role in the areas of logistics, banking, e-commerce and public service distribution by keeping pace with national priorities at the ground level.
Scindia interacted with all the Chief Post Master General (CPMG) from across the country and listened in detail their experiences, achievements, difficulties and plans. In his address, he said,- “India Post is not just a service, but a lifeline connecting the remote corners of our country. There is a proud feeling of the energy, commitment and innovation of the representatives from all over the country.” He appreciated the corporate style structure adopted by India Post, which prefer performance -based work culture, innovation and accountability. The Union Minister emphasized the need to promote service-centered, commercial thinking so that India could remain competitive in the field of logistics and financial services, as well as fulfill its social responsibilities.
For the next year 2025–26, he set an ambitious target of 20% to 30% increase in all circles based on their resources and capabilities. This target is part of the comprehensive vision of converting India Post into a permanent -beneficial institution – which will help in generating revenue for the government without compromising social obligation. There was also a detailed discussion on topics like infrastructure development, simplification of procedures, capacity enhancement and digital empowerment in the meeting, which are decisive in the direction of making India Post ready for future, the last end.

Scindia introduced 15 point development roadmap for India Post
Union Communications Minister Scindia emphasized 15 major points during India Post Business Meet 2025–26, interacting with officials. Among them were subjects such as customer-focused service, cooperation between commercial units, identification of new market possibilities, revenue targets set for each employee and performance-based incentive system. All offices with BOS NIL transactions were directed to submit corrective roadmaps within a month. Also, clear service targets and revenue standards have been set for the upcoming financial year 2025–26. At the end of the meeting, the minister called for implementation of this vision with solidarity, timeliness and collective responsibility.
