Keeping in mind the potential emergency, India has provided the details of the flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this information is fully given on humanitarian basis. India alerted Pakistan about the possible floods in the Tawi River, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Sunday informed the Pakistani Foreign Ministry in the matter. This is the first time information about such a case has been sent through the High Commission. Usually, such information is shared through the Indus Water Commissioner. However, no information was shared between the two countries under the Indus Water Treaty as it is still postponed.

According to reports, Pakistan has issued a warning based on the information given by India. The Indus Water Treaty was postponed after the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 people were killed. After this postponement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that blood and water could not flow together. On 7 May, India made accurate attacks on terrorist training camps located in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan in response to this terrorist attack. Last week, speaking at a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru for the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan and described it as an unbalanced agreement signed without parliamentary approval.

Speaking at a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi accused Nehru of compromising India’s interests and giving advantage of Pakistan to Pakistan by giving them the right part of India.
