India Pak Journey Part 6 | Talk between Musharraf and Vajpayee, Pak sponsored Mumbai Terror Attack

The Agra Summit took place in mid -July 2001 and remained inconceivable. It was estimated that the relations between India and Pakistan would be focused on the critical conditions arising out of Agra’s failure. But India-Pakistan tension reached the peak after the attack on the Indian Parliament.

Morning of 13 December 2001

The morning of 13 December 2001 was like a common day. The cold started knocking in Delhi. It was getting around 11.28 in the morning. Parliament called the temple of democracy from where the rule of India has come from. The winter session of the Center Parliament was going on between the power and the opposition. The proceedings of both houses of Parliament are adjourned for 40 minutes amidst the opposition’s tremendous uproar. After which the Tattan Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Leader of Opposition, Sonia Gandhi left the premises of the House and left for their government residence. But Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani was still present in the Lok Sabha along with his fellow ministers and about 200 MPs. Eight security personnel and an employee of Parliament lost their lives in the attack of Jaish -e -Mohammed. These included five security personnel of Delhi Police, women security personnel of the Central Reserve Force, two employees working in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat and a gardener.

Talk between Musharraf and Vajpayee

In 2002, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf promised western pressure after the 9/11 attacks that Pakistan would combat terrorism on its soil. During the United Nations General Assembly meeting in 2003, Musharraf called for a ceasefire along the Line of Control and India and Pakistan reached an agreement to reduce stress and end hostility. In 2004, Musharraf interacted with Indian Prime Minister Vajpayee. But in 2007, the Samjhauta Express train connecting India and Pakistan took place near Panipat in the north of New Delhi. It killed 68 people and injured dozens. In 2008, trade relations across the Line of Control began to improve and joined a outline agreement on a $ 7.6 billion gas pipeline project between India, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Pak sponsored Mumbai Terror Attack

The day was on 26 November 2008 when the whole country was scared due to the terrorist attack in Mumbai. The wounds of the family and the injured are still fresh. On this day, ten terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who came from the sea route, shocked Mumbai with bomb blasts and firing. Today is the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attack in Mumbai. More than 160 people were killed and more than three hundred people were injured in the attack. Even today, the heart of the people is shaken by remembering the Mumbai attack. The operation went on for about 60 hours. 9 terrorists were killed while a terrorist Ajmal Kasab was caught alive. Which was hanged on 21 November 2012.
