Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that India is witnessing a magnificent cultural renaissance and today’s India is taking forward its cultural identity with new resolutions and new confidence. Addressing a gathering after unveiling the 77-feet tall bronze statue of Lord Ram at Sri Sansthan Gokarna Partagali Jeevottam Math, the Prime Minister urged people to take nine resolutions, including water conservation and adopting Swadeshi.

Prime Minister Modi said that this Math has been the cornerstone of upholding the values and will continue to provide energy to the coming generations… One of its hallmarks is the spirit of service that has accompanied every section of the society for centuries. Centuries ago, when the region faced adversity and people were forced to leave their homes and families to seek refuge in new lands, the monastery supported the community, establishing temples and shelters in new locations.
He said that it protected not only religion, but also humanity and culture. Over time, the monastery’s services have expanded. Today, from education to hostels, care of the elderly to assistance to needy families, this monastery has always devoted its resources to public welfare. He said India is passing through an important phase in its history and the energy of the youth and connection to their cultural roots are helping shape a new India.
Modi said that the energy of our youth, our growing confidence and our new connection with our cultural roots, all together are shaping a new India. Our dream of a developed, developed India will be realized only when spirituality, national service and development move forward harmoniously, with a single purpose. Goa and this monastery are making important contributions towards this common goal. The Prime Minister said that today India is witnessing a cultural renaissance. The construction of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, the grand revival of Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the expansion of Mahakal Mahalok in Ujjain… all these are examples of the country’s new consciousness and the powerful revival of its spiritual heritage. Today’s India is taking forward its cultural identity with new resolutions and new confidence.

Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the ‘Ramayana Theme Park Garden’ developed by the Math. He also released a special postage stamp and a commemorative coin and addressed the gathering present on the occasion. Sri Sansthan Gokarna Paratagali Jeevottam Math is the first Gaud Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnav Math. It follows the Dvaita sect, which was founded by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century. The headquarters of the monastery is located at Paratagali, a small town in South Goa, on the banks of the Kushavati River.
