On Monday, India Block intensified its attack on the Election Commission. He accused him of misconduct in the recent elections and questioned his decision to conduct a special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list just before the Bihar assembly elections. Citing alleged irregularities in Maharashtra and Karnataka, the leaders intensified their criticism. Mahua Moitra of TMC even urged to dissolve the Lok Sabha immediately. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, SP Ram Gogoi, TMC’s Mahua Moitra, RJD’s Manoj Jha, AAP’s Sanjay Singh and other senior opposition leaders attended the joint press conference held at the Constitution Club of India.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said that in his press conference yesterday, the Election Commission (EC) questioned the political parties when he had to explain why he was having a sir. EC was silent on SIR in Bihar. He was also silent on how 7 million new voters were added between Lok Sabha and Maharashtra assembly elections. It is clear that EC is subject to officers who are not fair. He said that the Election Commission is unable to answer the questions of the opposition, is running away from its responsibility.
Gogoi said that the Election Commission is silent on increasing the number of voters in Maharashtra, discrepancies in the voter list in Mahadevpura. He said that the Election Commission is in the hands of the officers who are not investigating any allegations of the opposition. Ram Gopal Yadav claimed that SP leaders gave an affidavit to remove the names of 18,000 voters from the voter list in 2022, but the Election Commission did not take any action. He said that the Election Commission’s claim is wrong that the opposition is accusing without facts and no affidavit has been given.

Mahua Moitra said that the Chief Minister of West Bengal raised the issue of ‘duplicate EPIC Voter Card’, but the problem was not resolved. He clearly stated that action should be taken against the former Election Commissioners for fake voter lists, the Lok Sabha should be dissolved immediately. Manoj Jha of RJD said that the Constitution is for security, it cannot be a shield to your violation of constitutional morality. Arvind Sawant of Shiv Sena-Ubatha alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner’s behavior looked craze, it seemed as if he was working as a BJP spokesperson.
