The SIR cartoon features a person named “EC” wearing a uniform and covered in fetters, which has an EVM (electronic voting machine) in his hand, and a speech bubble is coming out of his mouth which states “Yes Sir”. The same spicy hashtag has been installed with the tweet: #Sir, which is a clear reference to the recent allegations made by the opposition parties that the ECI is working under the pressure of the central government, especially in view of the developments in Bihar. Ever since the monsoon session begins on July 21, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs have been protesting against the voter list amendment inside and outside Parliament.
